Wave Rock is about a 4 hours drive from Perth
Probably not worth the trip if you are short on time as the main attraction is photo shots at a rock.
Although this rock will surely rock the photo enthusiast.
Probably best to go there during early spring and at the same time experience the blooming of wildflowers and canola fields including panaromic view of open fields as far as the eyes can see.
Must Do
Take photo at Wave Rock and Hippo Yawn (650m apart - can walk if you wish).
Also check out Lake Magic near there. Seems a place to chill with walk trails to explore around the area.
Recommend overnight at Hyden, a very small town and practically closed on weekend.
No mobile and internet signal - download google offline map for the area.If you need to stay connected to the world, you would probably best to get a Telstra SIM card.
Parking / Entry
Payment is via parking ticket machine - minimum of $12 per car of 4 pax, steps up based on number of pax. Not sure how they enforce as it appears based on honesty of visitors to declare the number of pax in a car.
Option to pass through the town of york enroute to Wave Rock, historically the first inland town in the early days of the gold mining.
