Scarborough Beach

MUST STOP - Scarborough Beach / Esplanade

https://youtu.be/RLqovnPzjcE

Just 15 km (20 minutes) northwest of Perth along the Sunset coast. Excellent for relaxing and chilling out.

Probably the most touristy and commercial of Perth beaches with beachfront hotels, restaurants, cafe and eateries.

Redevelopment of the esplanade area further enhances the already popular beach. It now has a big children playground and skateboard park.

*****
Probably best to go when :

- coming back from Pinnacles / Lancelin driving through the @sunset beach route via Hillarys (instead of more direct mitchell highway).

- or very early morning start enroute to Pinnacles

PARKING

A 4 hour free parking is next to the children playground and barbeque / picnic area.

Parking would probably be difficult in the evening and weekends.

Affordable parking in the area;
- Manning Street Car Park (two hours free then $5 per day)
- Coles Car Park

The closest train station is Glendalough station on Scarborough Beach Road, with buses running direct from the station to the beach at regular intervals.

******

Note there is a Coles Supermarket near the roundabout at the esplanade. Dropby to nearby Coles Express and grab the $1 coffee to go.

Or indulge at one of the many restaurants with the beach view - just order coffee and chips if you are on a budget.

SHOPPING

On Thursday nights you can head for some shopping at Westfield Innaloo and outlets nearby.

On weeknights, you can also dropby at Ikea (closes at 9 pm).
